The German Indoor Championship was held on April 14/15 at the Megadrom in Geilenkirchen. There is a wonderful permanent indoor track with a very technical layout. The pit area for the drivers was placed in a new small hall beside the hall with the track. Everybody had a great time at the race.
Since it was a permanent hall, the track had a lot of local heroes because the track was not close for the championship. However, German Team XRAY was strong and everybody had very strong achievements. At this event, in the two A-finals we had minimum one fast XRAY driver and on this track it was very noticeable. The other XRAY drivers gave great performances.

In the Modified qualifications, Steven Weiß was always in the front making him realize a perfect 2nd place behind top driver Ronald Völker. In 3rd place there was young talent Christopher Krapp. The difference between these drivers were marginal, so it was sure that we would have exciting finals.

In the finals, Steven WeiĂź gave a very impressive show with his XRAY and he took home a safe 2nd place. He was able to go full speed in the corners, giving the viewers a thrill. At the beginning of the finals he benefited from good starts, putting a lot of pressure. Markus Feldmann (XRAY T2â™007) also showed great speed on the track. He advanced from his starting position and took home a solid 6th place⦠pretty good for his first electric championship! We will see more from him in the future. The title this year goes to strong driver Ronald Völker.

We also had a strong team in the Stock class with 27turn motors. Thomas GĂĽnsel broke the home field advantage in qualifying, giving him a 6th place starting position. All other XRAY drivers were in the front of the B-final, ultimately showing off later on with performances that were sometimes better and faster than the A-final.

In the a-final it was Thomas GĂĽnsel who can take home two times the 4th place. Herewith he demonstrates that the Xray 007 is also a perfect car for the standard class. He can follow the lap times from hall owner and German championship Heinz JĂĽrgen Kalinowski. Unfortunately it was very difficult to overtake on the track with 27 Turn motors; otherwise he would be to overtake much more people.
